Nicaragua Campingtour (starting in Costa Rica)
Nicaragua in a 4×4 camper – a one-of-a-kind adventure trip
Travel dates: January 24th – February 7th, 2025
Wielandontheroad takes you on a unique journey through Nicaragua.
Costa Rica is our second home, Nicaragua our latest discovery. For the first time, we are offering a guided campingtour to Nicaragua – we call it a pilot trip.
Come with us on a unique tour in a 4×4 camper! Be inspired by the warmth of the locals and the diversity of cultural traditions. With us, you gain insights in the life and work of the Nicas.
Immerse yourself in the breathtaking landscapes with forests, rivers, mountains and lakes. Explore the fascinating flora and fauna and enjoy romantic sunsets.
Experience the history of Nicaragua up close in the charming colonial towns, where you will be enchanted by the architecture and vibrant life. Climb majestic volcanoes and delight in spectacular views over the country.
We make sure that you can enjoy every moment to the fullest while camping under the endless starry sky and feeling the sounds of nature around you.
Our trip begins in San José, Costa Rica, because there are no 4×4 campers available to rent in Nicaragua (yet). We then spend 12 days of our tour in Nicaragua.
In Nicaragua, an experienced local guide will be with us. He loves to pass on his extensive knowledge of nature, culture and traditions and is familiar with the customs of the country.

You can also take part in this tour with your own 4×4 vehicle. It is also possible to join in Nicaragua without any problems (11-day camping tour Nicaragua).
I would be happy to tell you more about our travel offers and advise you on the choice of vehicle.
The travel dates are coordinated with the direct flights with Edelweiss. If you travel to San José in a different way, we certainly offer the same pick-up service and, if desired, other services.
Add additional components to the camping tour as you wish: In advance, for example, with a stay in a jungle lodge in Tortuguero, a secluded, car-free village in the middle of the rainforest, between the river and the Caribbean Sea. Or you can stay a few days in a hotel on the beach after the camping trip or enjoy a few more days in the camper on your own. We would be happy to advise you on this too.
Good to know: The guided tour can also end in Liberia and the camper can be dropped off there.
